Who is Nimbus Systems?
Nimbus Systems is a leading European software and services company that is focused on segmented billing, settlement and business intelligence. Nimbus Systems develops its own software and its carrier-class products have attracted a significant Tier 1 customer base across Europe, including Vodafone, Telenor, Telefonica and KPN. Established in 2001, Nimbus is a privately-owned company and is headquartered in Madrid, Spain.
Why did Redknee acquire Nimbus Systems?
Redknee’s robust business strategy has focused on growing the business through organic and inorganic growth. In 2007, Redknee made its first acquisition in Argent Networks, which has significantly contributed to the strong market presence and financial position that Redknee enjoys today. The acquisition of Nimbus systems will further strengthen Redknee’s operating model and market share, particularly in global operators, such as Telefonica, Orange and Vodafone. As the evolution towards 3G and 4G continues to pick up pace, the addition of Nimbus Systems puts Redknee in a prime position to capitalise on the growing customer care and billing market place.
What are the synergies between Redknee and Nimbus Systems’ products?
Both Redknee and Nimbus Systems have specialised in the next generation customer care and billing space for the past decade. By taking both companies experience and expertise in prepaid and post-paid customer experience management, going forward Redknee’s product portfolio will grow to be one of the most robust end-to-end offerings on the market. The immediate go-to market opportunity offers the ability to both cross-sell the larger product portfolio to the existing combined customer base, as well as targeting new potential customers. In addition, due to Redknee and Nimbus Systems’ independently developed software, which includes open APIs, their historical and ongoing commitment to enabling collaboration and scalability to their solutions will ensure a seamless integration. This is increasingly important as Redknee supports its customers to drive data revenue and move towards triple or quad play offerings by ensuring that it has the end-to-end competencies that scale as its customers’ needs grow.
As a Nimbus Systems customer, what can I expect from the acquisition?
In the immediate future, business will continue as usual for Nimbus Systems customers. Your account teams and structure will remain the same. Going forward, you will see the development of the integrated product portfolio come to life and understand the benefits that Redknee’s award-winning solutions and services and global experts will bring to you. Redknee expects to provide the first update to the integration within the next three to six months.
Will the current Nimbus Systems’ products continue to be supported?
Yes, Nimbus Systems’ flagship products will continue to be supported by Redknee. Part of Redknee’s acquisition strategy is to ensure that we expand our existing product lines with complementary offerings. Nimbus Systems’ expertise in next generation post-paid billing and its strong billing tools and customer experience management portfolio will be key components to Redknee’s product roadmap going forward.
What happens to Nimbus Systems employees?
Redknee intends to retain all Nimbus Systems employees and will integrate them into Redknee’s organisation structure. In recognition to Redknee’s commitment to the integration of Nimbus Systems’ organisation from employees to product portfolio, the co-founders of Nimbus Systems will join Redknee as part of its business line leadership team.
What is the value to shareholders?
For our shareholders, this acquisition signifies an exciting phase for Redknee. The combined expertise, product portfolio and market presence of Redknee and Nimbus Systems will bring Redknee new opportunities to accelerate growth and grow our revenues and earnings. For example, Redknee’s presence with group operators, such as Telefonica, Vodafone and Telenor, will increase immediately. In the near future, you will see us enter new geographies, such as Latin America. This acquisition represents another important milestone in Redknee’s growth strategy, as the company strives towards becoming the leading specialist in the real-time customer care and billing for Tier 1 and group operators across the world.
