Parlay/OSA Momentum Reaches New High at Dublin, Ireland Meeting; Operator Keynotes and Business Cases Show Increased Momentum in Deployment of Parlay

San Ramon, Calif., United States, Wednesday, November 20, 2002 -

The Parlay Group's open application programming interfaces (APIs) are enjoying a steady increase in deployment, according to attendees at Parlay's October member meeting in Dublin, Ireland.

Testimony to the growing Parlay movement came from operator keynote speakers Rene ten Brinke of KPN Carrier Services, Dave Fallen of the BT Group, and Dominic O'Neill from ORANGE, who described Parlay's current deployment and success in existing networks.

Further corroborating the increase in deployments, Parlay members and guests presented business cases, which illustrate ROI increases directly attributed to Parlay product deployment. These success stories mark a new milestone for Parlay products, which recently moved beyond the trial and test stage and have been successfully implemented in operator networks.

Business cases voted "Best in Show" include, Redknee's "Parlay Mobility APIs Allow for Rapid Development of Location Based Services," SoloMio's "In-Call Application Services Platform," CoreBridge's "Converged Network Services for the Enterprise," and Teltier's "Business Case Study for a Parlay Application: iConnect(TM)."

"We are pleased to be able to share firsthand our experiences on the business viability of Parlay/OSA. Carriers and developers alike are seeing successful returns on their investments for Mobility, Messaging, Payment, and Call-Control/Data-Control APIs," said Jeff Popoff, Redknee Business Development.

A new round of business case presentations is scheduled for the January 2003 member meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.

Growing Numbers

An informal survey showed that, as of October 2002, there are more than 30 Parlay/OSA applications in commercial use, an increase of more than 60% in the past three months. The number of Parlay/OSA platforms (including gateways and application servers) in commercial use has also climbed to more than 25.

All presentations from the Dublin Member meeting are available to the public on the Parlay website:
