50 Best Winner
Redknee winner of Deloitte & Touche ‘50 Best Managed Companies’
December 18th - Redknee Inc was selected as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies in 2002. Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies (50 Best) is a national awards program that recognizes the 50 Best companies from a wide range of industries including Technology, Retail, Manufacturing and Services, among others. The program, entering its 10th year in 2002, annually recognizes 50 well managed Canadian companies that have implemented world-class best business practices.
Established in 1993, 50 Best was created to pay tribute to those companies that were achieving remarkable success despite the harsh economic conditions of the early ‘90s. Today the award has grown beyond recognition alone and become a tool to drive new business, secure financing for growth, attract top talent and increase morale.
In order to qualify for the 50 Best list, companies must pass an extensive evaluation process that assesses and examines management practices. An independent judging panel also evaluates how each company embraces new technology, globalization and a new generation of people entering the workforce, as well as how it recognizes the importance of leadership, strategy, culture and brand.
Applications are sent out to over 15,000 companies across Canada. To qualify, firms must have revenues between $10-million and $2 billion; demonstrate strong growth in the past three years; be more than 50% owned and closely held by Canadians; and, if public, have less than 50% of their shares traded.
The national sponsors of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies are Deloitte & Touche, CIBC, Queen’s School of Business and National Post.
