Borland and Redknee Inc. to Enable Advanced Applications for Mobile Networks
Open Services Platform Accelerates Mobile Service Deployments

MARKHAM, ON - October 2, 2001 - Borland Software Corporation (Nasdaq NM: BORL), a leading provider in e-business platform solutions, today announced that Redknee Inc., a leading provider of mobile applications platforms for 2G+ and 3G mobile networks, has signed an OEM Value Added Reseller (VAR) agreement with Borland. As part of the agreement, Redknee will integrate Borlandâ Visibrokerâ technology into Redknee's mobile OASIS™ (Open Applications Services Interface System) platform, allowing network operators to reduce time to market for diverse and flexible wireless solutions and offer customers greater choice in products and services.

The Redknee OASIS™ platform provides network operators with open network application programming interfaces (APIs) and services capabilities enabling the rapid development and delivery of wireless applications and end user services. These services include messaging, location and transaction-based services.

By integrating Visibroker, which fully supports CORBAâ 2.3, with OASIS™, Redknee is able to offer third party developers standard interfaces for developing applications associated with location services, m-commerce, billing solutions and advanced intelligent network capabilities. Mobile network operators benefit because they can offer their subscribers a much broader range of services faster and less expensively.

"This relationship with Borland enables us to offer an exceptional open services platform to the world's demanding mobile communications markets, " said Lucas Skoczkowski, Chief Operating Officer, Redknee Inc. "Network operators need to offer their customers more services and products in order to remain competitive."

"Borland is pleased to work with Redknee to provide industry leading options to the wireless industry, creating a competitive advantage for networks and unlimited opportunities for consumers," said John Fisher, president, Borland Canada.
