Redknee Announces Expansion in Middle East Market
Toronto, Canada — Sept 19, 2005 — Innovative Canadian company, Redknee Inc., announced this week its expansion into the Middle East market. Redknee delivers applications ranging from real-time converged billing to mobility solutions, designed to generate increased loyalty and revenue for mobile network operators. The move follows a recent contract win with MTC Kuwait, which has seen Redknee deploy its Integrated Real-time Billing Solution. MTC is now able to combine billing and rating of messaging and data offerings and support a wide range of end-user experiences.
Anticipated mobile saturation levels of up to 150% in certain Arab states, combined with the issues associated with high levels of transient network users, present some specific challenges for operators in the Middle East. Key factors for success include the ability of operators to enable consumers and enterprises to switch services between multiple mobile devices and gain revenue from roaming.
The first new product that Redknee is bringing to the Middle East region is EasyRoam. This application enables operators to activate a local number to visiting subscribers, regardless of a roaming agreement from the home network. For the user it will eliminate premium rates incurred through local calls while roaming.
Redknee will also be tailoring its existing portfolio to the Middle East market. Key products include:
• Converged Real-Time Rating and Billing System - allows carriers to leverage all their service offerings and partnership agreements to create multi-service packages, volume discounts, and real-time promotions
• Synaxis™ IP Charging Gateway - provides network operators with the ability to efficiently rate and bill for all types of data services in real-time
• Multi-SIM – allows network operators to provide cross device service to end-users via a single number. Incoming traffic – voice, SMS, email, IM etc is dynamically diverted according to type or time of day to multiple devices, both fixed and mobile
• Redknee technology is already relied on by 25 top tier network operators worldwide, including T-Mobile, Vodafone and O2. Its solutions cover a total subscriber base of 185 million.
Lucas Skoczkowski, CEO of Redknee, comments, “Following the experience gained through our work with MTC Kuwait we see a real market demand for our solutions. The current market environment in the Middle East presents some interesting challenges for operators and we believe that knowledge gained through working across the region, we can help address key issues by delivering service flexibility to operators.”
