Redknee's IP Charging Gateway Approved for Diameter Interoperability with Nortel GGSN, enabling wide range of IMS Online Charging Solutions

Toronto, CANADA — September 14, 2005 — Redknee today announced that its unified rating and charging framework has demonstrated the ability to monetize IP service flows, in line with 3GPP IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) standards. Redknee’s IP Charging Gateway (IPCG) has specifically been certified to interoperate with Nortel’s* next-generation packet core infrastructure via an IMS compliant Diameter based interface. The Redknee IPCG in conjunction with Nortel GGSN enables network operators to analyze, rate, and redirect data sessions and/or content on a transactional level – allowing the operator to charge subscribers for specific multi-media events (e.g. Streaming Content, Application Downloads, Wireless-VoIP, Mobile TV) in a manner which is intuitive to end-subscribers and reinforces the network operator’s position in the IMS value-chain.

Compatibility approval was achieved using IMS wireless infrastructure located in Nortel’s Wireless Interoperability Lab in Chateaufort, France.
