Redknee Delivers Synaxis Enhanced Messaging Gateway
to Hong Kong Mobile Network Operator SmarTone

HONG KONG — 25 February 2004 — Redknee Inc. the market leader in open architecture wireless solutions, today announced that SmarTone Mobile Communications Limited (SmarTone), Hong Kong’s leading mobile network operator in data services, has deployed Redknee’s Synaxis™ Enhanced Messaging Gateway (EMG) solution.

Building on its strong service infrastructure solution base, Redknee’s Synaxis EMG has brought SmarTone an effective way to off-load SMS traffic, reduce operational costs and address capacity constraints particularly during peak holidays when SMS traffic increases dramatically. The Redknee system seamlessly integrates as well as directs messaging traffic to and from diverse messaging platforms.

The Redknee Synaxis EMG is available now for order and timely delivery. The Synaxis EMG features include: Intelligent routing engine based on a number of attributes including time-of-day, origination address, destination address, and message content; Message delivery optimization techniques including first shot delivery; Throttling and other peak traffic handling mechanisms; Content provider interface multiplexing; and comprehensive support of existing interfaces and protocols associated with existing messaging infrastructure which mitigates costly and disruptive changes to the operator’s network.

The modular framework solution can be augmented to provide additional capabilities including a store-and-forward capability which would allow the operator to fully retire its existing infrastructure at the network operator’s discretion. This Synaxis EMG solution is currently being deployed in top tier networks globally.
