Redknee Appoints VP Global Sales
New appointment will focus on growing Redknee’s direct global sales channel.
MISSISSAUGA, ON —1 August 2003—Redknee Inc. the market leader in open architecture wireless solutions, announced today the appointment of Chris Newton-Smith as Vice President Global Sales to lead its global direct sales teams. Chris Newton-Smith brings a strong knowledge of marketing, sales, technology and services to his new role. He most recently served as the Managing Director and VP Sales for Redknee's European operations. Chris Newton-Smith will be heading a global team focused on sales for Redknee’s valued added solutions and technologies in the global wireless carrier market. "Wireless carriers across world are now beyond the point of considering Redknee's products, they have been deploying it for past 48 months," said Chris Newton-Smith, Vice President of Global Sales at Redknee. Chris brings to his new role with Redknee a broad working knowledge of the wireless industry. His experience ranges from research and consultancy roles within start-up companies through to multi-billion dollar organizations. Before joining Redknee, Chris held positions in Marketing, Product Management, Software Development, and Technology Evaluation at Research In Motion (RIM), Encana, and UBS AG. He has a Bachelor of Computer Engineering and Management degree from McMaster University and is a member of the IEEE.
